The lighting has a huge effect on how the painting looks!

In her masterful creation, Gold Leaf Coconuts 16, Amanda
applies a lustrous gold leaf base that blankets the entire canvas.
At the heart of this masterpiece lies a trilogy, imbued with
profound meaning and enhanced by the gilded backdrop.

Delicately balancing light and shadow, Amanda orchestrates a symphony
of contrasts, leaving portions of the golden base untouched, while
deepening as your eyes move left to right. Here, the azure sky radiates with the brilliance of a sun-drenched day, its expanse punctuated by the glow of sunlight breaking through the clouds on the left.

Yet, on the opposite end of the spectrum, a unique tropical phenomenon unfolds—a small patch of sunshine rain, an anomaly amidst the brightness, serves as a
poignant reminder of life's unpredictability and the transient nature of existence.

Through this juxtaposition, Amanda artfully captures the ebb and flow of life itself. And yet, amidst the flux, there stands the unwavering strength of the palm tree, and a trilogy of mature coconuts, its sturdy silhouette a beacon of resilience amidst life's ever-changing tides.

Oil And Gold Leaf On Canvas

This original oil painting was painted on a foundation of gold leaf. The initial step involves coating the canvas with an oil-based glue, followed by the application of delicate metallic-gold sheets that envelop the entire surface.

Amanda employs her signature palette knife technique to layer a vibrant array of tropical hues over the golden backdrop, intentionally leaving portions of the base untouched to enhance depth resulting in a stunning plethora of light and color.
